SCOTT EVERINGHAM

Scott Everingham, "Fog Sounds", 2017, oil on canvas, 60" x 66"

Scott Everingham’s paintings exist between abstraction and storytelling. Fictional narratives inform the structure of his works that ultimately develop into immersive abstract spaces. His paintings record a thoughtful process involving the manipulation of color, gesture and the physicality of paint.

Three-time finalist in the prestigious RBC Canadian Painting Competition (2009, 2010, 2013), Everingham holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and an MFA from the University of Waterloo. He is represented in numerous public, private, and corporate collections. In addition to his painting practice, Everingham is a painting instructor at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, ON, where he currently lives and works.

On view from April 26 through May 6, 2017 this presentation offers a quick taste of Everingham’s work, which will be featured in a solo exhibition at VIVIANEART in November of 2017.
