Laura St. Pierre explores her relationship with the natural environment through a multidisciplinary art practice. Her installations, sculptures, photography and public works simulate scavenger activity within Canadian regions particularly significant to her personal history and experience. Though human figures remain absent throughout, traces of their presence appear by staged remnants of imagined provisional activities and dwellings. In St. Pierre’s works, ignored derelict spaces become richly transformed through enlivened interaction with the landscape.

St. Pierre’s work has been exhibited throughout Canada including presentation in the 2013 Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton; and solo exhibitions at AKA Artist-Run, Saskatoon; Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography, Toronto among others. St. Pierre has earned Bachelor degrees from the University of British Colombia and the University of Alberta, and completed a Master of Fine Arts degree at Concordia University in Montreal. Her work is in the permanent collections of The Dunlop Gallery in Regina, the Saskatchewan Arts Board, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Art Gallery of Alberta. She currently lives and works in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
